King of the Ring '89 Rebooked

  1. Hercules def. The Honky Tonk Man with the torture rack.

  2. Mr. Perfect def. The Red Rooster with the perfect plex.

  3. Ted DiBiase def. "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka via count-out when Virgil attacked Snuka outside the ring.

  4. "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan def. Bad News Brown via DQ when Brown hit Duggan with a chair.

  5. Mr. Perfect def. Hercules.  Hercules attempted a torture rack but Perfect slipped off then caught Hercules in a small package.

  6. The Brain Busters (c) def. The Hart Foundation.  Bret Hart was covering Tully Blanchard for the pin.  As the referee was distracted with Jim Neidhart, Arn Anderson came off the second rope and hit Hart on the back of the head.  Blanchard covered Hart for the win. (for the World Tag Team Championship)

  7. "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan def. Ted DiBiase.  The referee was recovering from getting knocked out.  Meanwhile, DiBiase held Duggan while Virgil attempted to hit him with the 2x4.  Duggan got out of the way and Virgil hit DiBiase.  Duggan knocked Virgil out of the ring the covered DiBiase for the win.

  8. Greg "The Hammer" Valentine def. "Rugged" Ronnie Garvin in a retirement match.  Garvin was distracted by Jimmy Hart on the ring apron.  From behind, Valentine rolled up Garvin while pulling the tights.

  9. The Ultimate Warrior def. "Ravishing" Rick Rude (c) via DQ.  Warrior was about to gorilla-press slam Rude but Andre "The Giant" came to the ring and started brawling with the Warrior.  Many officials had to step in to stop the melee.

  10. Mr. Perfect def. "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan when the Genius suddenly appeared at ringside and hit Duggan with the steel scroll.  Afterward, it was revealed that the Genius was Mr. Perfect's new protege.

  11. Hulk Hogan (c) def. Zeus via DQ when "Macho Man" Randy Savage entered the ring to attack Hogan.  Then, Brutus Beefcake entered the ring to clear Savage.  Beefcake hit Zeus with a chair with no effect.  Many officials came into the ring to clear Zeus and Savage.

AFTERMATH:

  • Randy Savage defeats Jim Duggan to win the "Kingdom" of the WWF.
