Summer Slam '86 Rebooked

1. The Hart Foundation def. Mike Rotundo & Danny Spivey when Bret Hart pinned Rotundo after the "Hart Attack"

2. The Junkyard Dog def. "Adorable" Adrian Adonis when "Rowdy" Roddy Piper hit Adonis with the megaphone

3. Hercules and Tito Santana were both counted out as they brawled outside the ring.

4. The Dream Team def. The Killer Bees when Johnny Valiant distracted Jim Brunzel on the ring apron.  From behind, Beefcake hit Brunzel in the back of the head with the high knee then pinned him.

5. Bruno Sammartino def. "Macho Man" Randy Savage (c) via DQ when Savage hit Sammartino with an illegal object as Sammartino had Savage in a bear-hug submission.  (for the Intercontinental Heavyweight Championship)

6. Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat def. Jake "The Snake" Roberts in a Dragon vs. Snake match.  Roberts was distracted by Steamboat's dragon in the corner then Steamboat rolled up Roberts into a cradle.

7. The British Bulldogs (c) def. Nikolai Volkoff & The Iron Shiek when Dynamite Kid hit Nikolai Volkoff with the headbutt from the top rope (for the World Tag Team Championships)

8. "Rowdy" Roddy Piper def "Cowboy" Bob Orton when Adonis accidentally hit Orton with brass knuckles

9. Kamala def. George "The Animal" Steele when Kimchi tripped Steele from the outside then Kamala hit the Ugandan splash on Steele.

10. Hulk Hogan & "Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff def. King Kong Bundy & "Big" John Studd when Hogan hit Studd with the atomic leg drop.  After the match, Bundy and Studd cleared Hogan and Orndorff from the ring.  Andre "The Giant" came in and attacked both Bundy and Studd then cleared them from the ring.  Andre also knocked down multiple referees until a team of WWF officials as well as Hogan and Orndorff had to restrain him.  Interestingly, Andre did not attempt to attack Bobby Heenan.

 

AFTERMATH:

1. Andre "The Giant" was suspended for his conduct after the Main Event ended.  He would not be reinstated until shortly before the Royal Rumble.  Interestingly, Bobby Heenan did not object to Andre's reinstatement.

2. In his last interview before being suspended, Andre was asked why didn't Hogan pick him as a partner for SummerSlam to which Andre replied, "Hogan did not ask me but that's okay because he can pick any partner he wants."

3. Paul Orndorff eventually attacked Hulk Hogan after a tag team match.  Orndorff claimed that Hogan wanted all the spotlight during their SummerSlam match.

4. "Rowdy" Roddy Piper and "Adorable" Adrian Adonis continued to feud over which show was better - "Piper's Pit" or "The Flower Shop."
